Owen Stuart Aspinall (1927-1997) — also known as Owen S. Aspinall — of Palisade, Mesa County, Colo. Born in Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colo., September 21, 1927. Son of Wayne Norviel Aspinall and Julia Edith (Kuns) Aspinall (1897-1969). Democrat. American Samoa territory attorney general, 1961-62; secretary of American Samoa Territory, 1962-67; Governor of American Samoa, 1967-69. Protestant. Died in Mesa County, Colo., February 7, 1997 (age 69 years, 139 days). Interment at Orchard Mesa Cemetery, Grand Junction, Colo.   See also Find-A-Grave memorial

Hyrum Rex Lee (1910-2001) — also known as H. Rex Lee — of Washington, D.C.; La Mesa, San Diego County, Calif. Born in Rigby, Jefferson County, Idaho, April 8, 1910. Son of Hyrum Lee and Eliza (Farnsworth) Lee. Democrat. Economist; Governor of American Samoa, 1961-67, 1977-78; member, Federal Communications Commission, 1968-73. Protestant. Died in La Jolla, San Diego County, Calif., July 26, 2001 (age 91 years, 109 days).
