William Robert Bayes (1876-1964) — also known as William R. Bayes — of Brooklyn, Kings County, N.Y.; Manhattan, New York County, N.Y. Born in Wauseon, Fulton County, Ohio, July 29, 1876. Son of Isaac E. Bayes and Fannie A. (Guilford) Bayes. Republican. Lawyer; president, Kings Highway Savings Bank; president, Brooklyn National Life Insurance Co.; delegate to New York state constitutional convention 8th District, 1915; delegate to Republican National Convention from New York, 1924; delegate to New York convention to ratify 21st amendment, 1933; candidate for Justice of New York Supreme Court 2nd District, 1933, 1940; justice, New York City Court of Special Sessions, 1935-46. Methodist. Member, American Bar Association; Phi Beta Kappa; Phi Delta Theta; Freemasons; Union League. Died in Gloversville, Fulton County, N.Y., November 28, 1964 (age 88 years, 122 days). Interment at Willow Brook Cemetery, Westport, Conn.   Relatives: Married, September 7, 1904, to Mabel Ross.
