Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; automobile dealer; oil distributor; member of Florida state house of representatives, 1947-50; candidate in primary for Governor of Florida, 1952, 1954; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Florida, 1956 (alternate), 1960; candidate in primary for U.S. Senator from Florida, 1964; builder; real estate broker.
