Member, Daughters of the American Revolution; United Daughters of the Confederacy; Order of the Eastern Star. Died June 3, 1967 (age 85 years, 94 days). Interment at Dekle Cemetery, Lake Butler, Fla.
  Relatives: Married, June 29, 1904, to John Daniel Alderman (1872-1926).

Baptist. Member, Freemasons; Moose; Elks; Kiwanis; American Legion; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Sigma Chi. Died May 31, 1997 (age 72 years, 319 days). Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Reynolds, Ga.

  Braswell Drue Deen (1893-1981) — also known as Braswell Deen — of Alma, Bacon County, Ga. Born near Baxley, Appling County, Ga., June 28, 1893. Democrat. Superintendent of schools; president, South Georgia Junior College, 1924-27; newspaper editor; real estate developer; banker; U.S. Representative from Georgia 8th District, 1933-39; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Georgia, 1940. Methodist. Died in Alma, Bacon County, Ga., November 28, 1981 (age 88 years, 153 days). Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Alma, Ga.

  Andrew Cobb Erwin (1884-1941) — also known as Andrew C. Erwin — of Athens, Clarke County, Ga. Born in Athens, Clarke County, Ga., December 22, 1884. Son of Alexander Smith Erwin (1843-1902; judge) and Mary Ann Lamar (Cobb) Erwin. Democrat. Insurance and real estate business; banker; mayor of Athens, Ga., 1918-21; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Georgia, 1920, 1924, 1928, 1932. Hit by a car on the street in front of his house, and died as a result, in Athens, Clarke County, Ga., February 16, 1941 (age 56 years, 56 days). Interment at Oconee Hill Cemetery, Athens, Ga.
  Relatives: Grandson of Howell Cobb; son of Alexander Smith Erwin (1843-1902; judge) and Mary Ann Lamar (Cobb) Erwin; married, April 24, 1912, to Camilla Oliver McWhorter (born 1884; sister of Bob McWhorter). See Cobb family of Georgia.
  M. Morris Jackson (b. 1920) — of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Born in Georgia, 1920. Democrat. Real estate broker; member of Ohio state senate, 1967-72; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Ohio, 1972; member of Democratic National Committee from Ohio, 1972. Still living as of 1973.
  James Brailey Odham (1919-1996) — also known as Brailey Odham — of Sanford, Seminole County, Fla. Born in Georgia, September 6, 1919. Democrat. Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; automobile dealer; oil distributor; member of Florida state house of representatives, 1947-50; candidate in primary for Governor of Florida, 1952, 1954; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Florida, 1956 (alternate), 1960; candidate in primary for U.S. Senator from Florida, 1964; builder; real estate broker. Died June 22, 1996 (age 76 years, 290 days). Interment at Palm Cemetery, Winter Park, Fla.
  Relatives: Married to Annie Louise Tyer (1925-2004).

  Zachary Paul Wamp (b. 1957) — also known as Zach Wamp — of Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tenn. Born in Fort Benning, Chattahoochee County, Ga., October 28, 1957. Republican. Real estate broker; U.S. Representative from Tennessee 3rd District, 1995-; defeated, 1992; delegate to Republican National Convention from Tennessee, 2008. Baptist. Still living as of 2009.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
