  Fred Ralph Albin (1872-1957) — also known as Fred Albin — of West Branch, Cedar County, Iowa. Born near West Branch, Cedar County, Iowa, August 5, 1872. Son of Joseph Albin (1835-1924) and Emily (Gruewell) Albin (1840-1907). Republican. Auctioneer; meat merchant; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Iowa, 1936. Died February 23, 1957 (age 84 years, 202 days). Interment at West Branch Municipal Cemetery, West Branch, Iowa.

Son of John Wilson Bell (1838-1903) and Elizabeth (Cook) Bell. Secretary and manager, Waterloo Canning Company; delegate to Iowa convention to ratify 21st amendment from Black Hawk County, 1933.   Ted Donald Clark (1920-1980) — also known as Ted D. Clark — of Mystic, Appanoose County, Iowa. Born in Detroit, Wayne County, Mich., June 12, 1920. Republican. Grocer; hardware and furniture business; member of Iowa state house of representatives from Appanoose County, 1949-51; member of Iowa state senate 3rd District, 1953-55. Methodist. Member, Freemasons; Shriners; Elks; Eagles. Died in Mystic, Appanoose County, Iowa, May 3, 1980 (age 59 years, 326 days). Interment at Highland Cemetery, Mystic, Iowa.

  Alexis U. Coates (1858-1943) — also known as A. U. Coates — of Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. Born in Excelsior, Richland County, Wis., June 21, 1858. Son of William Harvey Coates (1833-1917) and Anna French (Knowlton) Coates (1839-1923). School teacher; music store manager; grocer; real estate dealer; Prohibition candidate for Governor of Iowa, 1901; Prohibition candidate for U.S. Senator from Iowa, 1936. Church of Christ. English ancestry. Member, Freemasons; Odd Fellows. Died in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, January 21, 1943 (age 84 years, 214 days). Interment at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.

  Richard J. Norpel, Sr. (1918-2007) — of Bellevue, Jackson County, Iowa. Born in Bellevue, Jackson County, Iowa, June 24, 1918. Son of Charles Norpel and Laura (Meier) Norpel. Democrat. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II; grocer; hotelier; insurance and real estate business; member of Iowa state house of representatives, 1971-72; member of Iowa state senate, 1975-76. Catholic. Member, American Legion; Knights of Columbus. Died May 24, 2007 (age 88 years, 334 days). Interment at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery, Bellevue, Iowa.
  Relatives: Son of Charles Norpel and Laura (Meier) Norpel; step-son of Herman Pogeman; married, February 23, 1943, to Janaan Lewis (died 2002).
  Wesley J. Stearns (1868-1966) — of Stanton, Montcalm County, Mich. Born in Iowa, May 20, 1868. Republican. Meat merchant; farmer; Montcalm County Treasurer; member of Michigan state house of representatives from Montcalm County, 1917-20. English ancestry. Died in 1966 (age about 98 years). The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
