Died in Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa, September 11, 2009 (age 89 years, 169 days). Burial location unknown.

Interment at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
