Son of John Dodds and Catharine (Hoy) Dodds. Republican. School teacher and principal; lawyer; U.S. Representative from Michigan 11th District, 1909-13; defeated, 1912. Member, Freemasons; Odd Fellows; Knights of Pythias. Died in Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Mich., December 23, 1940 (age 82 years, 197 days). Interment at Riverside Cemetery.
      Relatives: Son of John Dodds and Catharine (Hoy) Dodds; brother of Peter F. Dodds; married to Mollie Nugent; married 1892 to Harriet A. 'Hattie' Cole; father of Nugent Dodds. See Dodds family of Michigan.

      John Adams Damon (1850-1926) — also known as John A. Damon — of Millington, Tuscola County, Mich.; Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Mich. Born in Madison, Lake County, Ohio, June 4, 1850. Son of George Damon (1807-1860) and Mary (Tyler) Damon (1811-1864). Republican. Member of Michigan state house of representatives from Tuscola County 1st District, 1887-90; Isabella County Treasurer, 1907-10; member of Michigan state senate 25th District, 1915-18; candidate for mayor of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., 1920. Scottish and English ancestry. Died in Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Mich., July 13, 1926 (age 76 years, 39 days). Interment at Riverside Cemetery.

      George Roland Denison (1919-2003) — also known as G. R. Denison — of Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Mich. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, June 14, 1919. Son of Dalton Young Denison (1893-1980) and Marcella Winifred (Spencer) Denison. Mayor of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., 1956-57. Died in Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Mich., January 13, 2003 (age 83 years, 213 days). Interment at Riverside Cemetery.

      The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.  
      The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
