  Albert Alonzo Ames (1842-1911) — also known as Albert A. Ames — of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minn. Born in Garden Prairie, Boone County, Ill., January 18, 1842. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; physician; member of Minnesota state house of representatives 5th District, 1867; mayor of Minneapolis, Minn., 1876-77, 1882-84, 1886-89, 1901-02; resigned 1902; candidate for Governor of Minnesota, 1886 (Democratic), 1896 (Independent); delegate to Democratic National Convention from Minnesota, 1888; indicted in 1902 on bribery charges, over a scheme to induce county commissioners to appoint his secretary, Thomas R. Brown, Jr., as Sheriff. Died in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minn., November 16, 1911 (age 69 years, 302 days). Burial location unknown.
  John Wesley Andrews (1849-1932) — also known as John W. Andrews — of Marshall, Lyon County, Minn.; Mankato, Blue Earth County, Minn. Born in Russellville, Lawrence County, Ill., April 6, 1849. Son of Rev. John Redding Andrews (1813-1889) and Delilah (Armstrong) Andrews (1823-1883). Physician; member of Minnesota state senate 8th District, 1915-18. Died in Mankato, Blue Earth County, Minn., May 18, 1932 (age 83 years, 42 days). Burial location unknown.

  Norman Eddy (1810-1872) — of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Ind. Born in Scipio, Cayuga County, N.Y., December 10, 1810. Democrat. Physician; lawyer; candidate for Indiana state house of representatives, 1847; member of Indiana state senate, 1849-52; U.S. Representative from Indiana 9th District, 1853-55; U.S. Attorney for Minnesota, 1855-57; colonel in the Union Army during the Civil War; secretary of state of Indiana, 1871-72. Episcopalian. Died in Indianapolis, Marion County, Ind., January 28, 1872 (age 61 years, 49 days). Interment at City Cemetery, South Bend, Ind.

Died in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minn., August 25, 1884 (age 55 years, 223 days). Interment at Oakland Cemetery, St. Paul, Minn.

  Henry Mason Wheeler (1854-1930) — of Grand Forks, Grand Forks County, N.Dak. Born in 1854. Physician; mayor of Grand Forks, N.Dak., 1917-18. Member, Freemasons. He helped stop a bank robbery by the Jesse James gang, in Northfield, Minnesota, September 7, 1876. He owned the first automobile in Grand Forks. Died April 13, 1930 (age about 75 years). The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.
