      Yewell Lawrence (1906-1951) — of Bloomfield, Stoddard County, Mo. Born in Dexter, Stoddard County, Mo., August 25, 1906. Democrat. Wholesale grocer; automobile dealer; banker; farmer; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Missouri, 1940; member of Missouri state senate 25th District, 1949-51; died in office 1951. Christian. Member, Freemasons; Scottish Rite Masons; Shriners. Killed in a car accident, January 2, 1951 (age 44 years, 130 days). Interment at Bloomfield Cemetery.

      June Briney Welborn (1920-1995) — also known as June Briney — of Bloomfield, Stoddard County, Mo. Born in 1920. Democrat. Delegate to Democratic National Convention from Missouri, 1944. Female. Died in an automobile accident, 1995 (age about 75 years). Interment at Bloomfield Cemetery.

      Joe Welborn (1915-2000) — of Bloomfield, Stoddard County, Mo. Born in 1915. Democrat. Lawyer; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Missouri, 1952. Died in 2000 (age about 85 years). Interment at Bloomfield Cemetery.

River transportation business; dry goods merchant; grain dealer; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Missouri, 1880; U.S. Representative from Missouri 14th District, 1887-90; died in office 1890. Died in Dexter, Stoddard County, Mo., July 19, 1890 (age 39 years, 127 days). Interment at Dexter Cemetery.
      Relatives: Uncle by marriage of Gertrude Sanders (who married the brother-in-law of Richard Nathaniel Lower).

    The Political Graveyard

    The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
     
      The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.  
      The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
