William Allen Boyd (1833-1911) — also known as William A. Boyd — of Tippah County, Miss. Born in Warrington, Abbeville District (now Kershaw County), S.C., October 17, 1833. Son of John Lyon Boyd and Sarah (Gray) Boyd. Member of Mississippi state house of representatives, 1861-62, 1873; member of Mississippi state senate, 1884-86, 1896-98, 1904-06; delegate to Mississippi state constitutional convention, 1890. Died in Starkville, Oktibbeha County, Miss., May 3, 1911 (age 77 years, 198 days). Interment at Ripley Cemetery.

Relatives: Married, March 12, 1855, to Sarah Jane Smith.
