Son of Peter John Anderson and Gena (Hagen) Anderson. Democrat. Rancher; colonel in the U.S. Army during World War II; member of Montana state house of representatives, 1947-48; member of Montana state senate, 1949-56, 1967; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Montana, 1956; U.S. Representative from Montana 2nd District, 1957-61; defeated, 1954. Presbyterian. Member, Freemasons; American Legion; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Lions; Tau Beta Pi; Pi Kappa Delta; Alpha Chi Sigma; Pi Kappa Alpha; American Chemical Society. Died, in a hospital at Conrad, Pondera County, Mont., September 25, 1991 (age 85 years, 235 days). Burial location unknown.

  Lloyd Joel Andrews (b. 1920) — also known as Lloyd J. Andrews — of Spokane, Spokane County, Wash. Born in Dutton, Teton County, Mont., August 26, 1920. Son of Fred Lee Andrews and Ada Lou (Stoner) Andrews. Republican. School teacher; served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; fruit grower; member of Washington state senate, 1953-57; Washington superintendent of public instruction, 1957-61; candidate for Governor of Washington, 1960; candidate for U.S. Senator from Washington, 1964. Methodist. Member, American Legion; Freemasons. Still living as of 1964.

  O. C. Cato — of Miles City, Custer County, Mont. Democrat. Rancher; banker; Custer County Sheriff; member of Montana state house of representatives; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Montana, 1912 (Honorary Vice-President). Interment at Custer County Cemetery, Miles City, Mont.
  Zales Nelson Ecton (1898-1961) — also known as Zales N. Ecton — of Manhattan, Gallatin County, Mont.; Bozeman, Gallatin County, Mont. Born in Weldon, Decatur County, Iowa, April 1, 1898. Son of Aaron Smith Ecton and Delphia (McVay) Ecton. Republican. Farmer; member of Montana state house of representatives, 1933-37; member of Montana state senate, 1937-46; U.S. Senator from Montana, 1947-53. Christian. Member, American Legion; Farm Bureau; Sigma Alpha Epsilon; Elks; Freemasons; Shriners. Died in Bozeman, Gallatin County, Mont., March 3, 1961 (age 62 years, 336 days). Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Bozeman, Mont.

  Harry Monroe Ralston (1882-1962) — also known as Harry M. Ralston — of Cut Bank, Glacier County, Mont. Born in Montana, March 17, 1882. Son of Samuel F. Ralston (1835-1904) and Mary F. (Gregg) Ralston (1840-1912). Democrat. Carpenter; rancher; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Montana, 1940. Died in Silver Bow County, Mont., June 9, 1962 (age 80 years, 84 days). Burial location unknown.

  Jon Tester (b. 1956) — Born in Havre, Hill County, Mont., August 21, 1956. Son of David O. Tester and Helen Marie (Pearson) Tester. Democrat. Farmer; school teacher; member of Montana state senate, 1999-2006; U.S. Senator from Montana, 2007-; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Montana, 2008. Still living as of 2010.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.
