Son of Fred Lee Andrews and Ada Lou (Stoner) Andrews. Republican. School teacher; served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; fruit grower; member of Washington state senate, 1953-57; Washington superintendent of public instruction, 1957-61; candidate for Governor of Washington, 1960; candidate for U.S. Senator from Washington, 1964. Methodist. Member, American Legion; Freemasons. Still living as of 1964.

  John Woodrow Bonner (1902-1970) — also known as John W. Bonner — of Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Mont. Born in Butte, Silver Bow County, Mont., July 16, 1902. Son of Patrick J. Bonner and Kathleen (Kelly) Bonner. Democrat. School teacher; lawyer; Montana state attorney general, 1941-42; Governor of Montana, 1949-53; defeated, 1952; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Montana, 1952, 1956. Catholic. Member, Phi Delta Phi; Sigma Phi Epsilon; Elks; Eagles. Died March 28, 1970 (age 67 years, 255 days). Interment at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.

  Henry A. Davee (b. 1872) — of Hoquiam, Grays Harbor County, Wash.; Roseburg, Douglas County, Ore.; Lewistown, Fergus County, Mont. Born in Martinsville, Morgan County, Ind., July 29, 1872. Son of Zachariah L. Davee and Elvira (King) Davee. School teacher and principal; superintendent of schools; Montana superintendent of public instruction, 1905-17. Methodist. Member, Freemasons. Burial location unknown.

  Ernest T. Eaton (b. 1877) — of Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa; Deer Lodge, Powell County, Mont.; Billings, Yellowstone County, Mont. Born in Atkinson, Piscataquis County, Maine, September 11, 1877. Son of Thomas O. Eaton and Delia E. (Bolster) Eaton. Superintendent of schools; founder in 1908, Billings Polytechnic Institute; (now Rocky Mountain College); president, 1931; member of Montana state house of representatives, 1915-19, 1923-25; member of Montana state senate, 1925-33; Lieutenant Governor of Montana, 1935, 1941-49. Member, Freemasons; Knights of Pythias; Kiwanis. Burial location unknown.

  Amy Georgia MacHale (b. 1892) — also known as Amy MacHale — of Shelby, Toole County, Mont. Born in Oshkosh, Winnebago County, Wis., February 22, 1892. Republican. School teacher; delegate to Republican National Convention from Montana, 1948. Female. Protestant. Member, American Legion Auxiliary. Burial location unknown.

  Jane Wall Purcell — also known as Mrs. Richard Purcell — of Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Mont. Born in Swanton, Franklin County, Vt. Democrat. School teacher; accountant; alternate delegate to Democratic National Convention from Montana, 1940. Female. Catholic. Member, American Legion Auxiliary. Presumed deceased. Burial location unknown.
  Jon Tester (b. 1956) — Born in Havre, Hill County, Mont., August 21, 1956. Son of David O. Tester and Helen Marie (Pearson) Tester. Democrat. Farmer; school teacher; member of Montana state senate, 1999-2006; U.S. Senator from Montana, 2007-; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Montana, 2008. Still living as of 2010.

Catholic. Member, Elks. Still living as of 2009.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
