  Frank Fulton Aplan (1900-1966) — also known as Frank F. Aplan — of Fort Pierre, Stanley County, S.Dak. Born in Rushville, Sheridan County, Neb., May 21, 1900. Son of Jens Olius Aplan (1860-1935) and Marie (Lenagh) Aplan (1870-1959). Republican. Served in the U.S. Army during World War I; lawyer; Stanley County Attorney; member of South Dakota state house of representatives 54th District, 1931-32; major in the U.S. Army during World War II. Norwegian, Irish, French Canadian, and Sioux Indian ancestry. Died in Rushville, Sheridan County, Neb., January 3, 1966 (age 65 years, 227 days). Interment at Fair View Cemetery, Rushville, Neb.

  Charles Gustav Binderup (1873-1950) — also known as Charles G. Binderup — of Minden, Kearney County, Neb. Born in Horsens, Denmark, March 5, 1873. Son of George Werner Binderup and Laurentza (Bjerring) Binderup. Farmer; merchant; real estate dealer; U.S. Representative from Nebraska 4th District, 1935-39; defeated (Independent), 1940. Presbyterian. Danish ancestry. Died in Minden, Kearney County, Neb., August 19, 1950 (age 77 years, 167 days). Interment at Minden Cemetery, Minden, Neb.

  Eric Hass (1905-1980) — of Oregon; New York. Born in Lincoln, Lancaster County, Neb., 1905. Advertising business; Socialist Labor candidate for U.S. Senator from Oregon, 1936; editor of The Weekly People, 1938-68; Industrial Government candidate for U.S. Senator from New York, 1944; candidate for mayor of New York City, N.Y., 1949 (Industrial Government), 1957 (Socialist Labor), 1961 (Socialist Labor), 1965 (Socialist Labor); candidate for Governor of New York, 1950 (Industrial Government), 1958 (Socialist Labor), 1962 (Socialist Labor); Socialist Labor candidate for President of the United States, 1952, 1956, 1960, 1964; librarian. German and Danish ancestry. Resigned or expelled from the Socialist Labor Party, 1969. Died, from a heart attack, in Community Hospital, Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, Calif., October 2, 1980 (age about 75 years). Burial location unknown.
  Taft Alfred Larson (1910-2001) — also known as T. A. 'Al' Larson — of Wyoming. Born near Wakefield, Dixon County, Neb., January 18, 1910. University professor; member of Wyoming state house of representatives, 1976-84. Swedish ancestry. Died in Santa Ana, Orange County, Calif., January 26, 2001 (age 91 years, 8 days). Interment at Green Hill Cemetery, Laramie, Wyo.
  Karl Harold Phillip LeVander (1910-1992) — also known as Harold LeVander — of South St. Paul, Dakota County, Minn. Born in Swede Home, Polk County, Neb., October 10, 1910. Son of Rev. Peter Magni LeVander. Lawyer; Governor of Minnesota, 1967-71. Lutheran. Swedish ancestry. Member, Kiwanis; American Bar Association; Gamma Eta Gamma; Pi Kappa Delta. Died in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minn., March 30, 1992 (age 81 years, 172 days). Burial location unknown.

Swedish, German, and Scottish ancestry. Member, Eagles; Odd Fellows; Freemasons; Veterans of Foreign Wars. Still living as of 1975.

  Ingebert J. Thomsen (b. 1873) — also known as I. J. Thomsen — of Minden, Kearney County, Neb. Born in North Albid, Denmark, August 4, 1873. Son of Peter H. Thomsen and Marie (Johansen) Thomsen. Republican. Farmer; inventor of Nu-Matic horse collar; Kearney County Clerk, 1916-23; postmaster; real estate dealer; abstractor; chair of Kearney County Republican Party, 1940. Presbyterian. Danish ancestry. Burial location unknown.

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.
