	David Christy Butler (1829-1891) — also known as David C. Butler — of Nebraska. Born December 15, 1829. Republican. Member of Nebraska territorial House of Representatives, 1861; member Nebraska territorial council, 1864; Governor of Nebraska, 1867-71; removed 1871; member of University of Nebraska board of regents, 1869-71; impeached on March 4, 1871, and removed from office as Governor on June 2, 1871. Member, Freemasons. Died May 25, 1891 (age 61 years, 161 days). Interment at Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Neb.   Butler County, Neb. is named for him.   See also National Governors Association biography
	James J. Dworak (b. 1935) — of Omaha, Douglas County, Neb. Born January 4, 1935. Democrat. Undertaker; mayor of Omaha, Neb., 1961-65; defeated, 1965; indicted on December 16, 1964, on charges of seeking thousands of dollars in bribes in connection with a rezoning request; tried in 1966 and acquitted. Still living as of 1997.
	George Bradford Cook (b. 1936) — also known as G. Bradford Cook — of Chicago, Cook County, Ill. Born in Lincoln, Lancaster County, Neb., 1936. Son of George Brash Cook (born 1910; insurance executive). Chair, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, 1973; resigned under fire from the SEC, following disclosure that he had modified a commission complaint to delete references to a secret $200,000 campaign contribution to President Richard Nixon's re-election campaign from fugitive financier Robert Vesco; admitted that he testified falsely to a Senate committee and to a grand jury investigating the matter; his license to practice law in Illinois and Nebraska was suspended for three years. Still living as of 1975.   Relatives: Son of George Brash Cook (born 1910; insurance executive); married to Jo Anne Thatcher and Laura Armour.
	Paul Louis Douglas (b. 1927) — also known as Paul L. Douglas — of Lincoln, Lancaster County, Neb. Born in Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, S.Dak., September 19, 1927. Lancaster County Attorney, 1960-74; Nebraska state attorney general, 1975-84. Eastern Orthodox. Impeached by the Legislature in 1984 over his conduct in office and dealings with an officer of a failed savings and loan; acquitted by the state supreme court. Convicted of perjury in December, 1984 and resigned as Attorney General, but the conviction was later overturned. Still living as of 1984.
	D. Michael Boyle (b. 1944) — of Omaha, Douglas County, Neb. Born in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, Calif., January 19, 1944. Mayor of Omaha, Neb., 1981-87. Catholic. Member, American Bar Association. Recalled from office as mayor in 1987. Still living as of 1997.
