  Abner Coburn Cleveland (1839-1903) — also known as A. C. Cleveland — of Bloomfield (now part of Skowhegan), Somerset County, Maine; Cleveland (unknown county), Nev. Born in Maine, November 17, 1839. Son of James Cleveland (1793-1881) and Elizabeth 'Betsey' (Parker) Cleveland (1796-1879). Republican. Cattleman; member of Nevada state house of representatives, 1869; member of Nevada state senate, 1870-74; Presidential Elector for Nevada, 1888, 1892; delegate to Republican National Convention from Nevada, 1892, 1896; candidate for Governor of Nevada, 1894, 1902. Died in Nevada, 1903 (age about 63 years). Burial location unknown.
  Relatives: Third cousin twice removed of Ephraim Safford; fourth cousin once removed of Jonathan Usher, Chauncey Fitch Cleveland and James Safford; son of James Cleveland (1793-1881) and Elizabeth 'Betsey' (Parker) Cleveland (1796-1879); married, January 19, 1868, to Katherine M.   Leland Merritt Ford (1893-1965) — also known as Leland M. Ford — of Santa Monica, Los Angeles County, Calif.; Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, Calif. Born in Eureka, Eureka County, Nev., March 8, 1893. Son of James Green Ford and Anna L. (Ficklin) Ford. Republican. Surveyor; rancher; real estate broker; U.S. Representative from California 16th District, 1939-43; defeated, 1942. Episcopalian. Member, Freemasons; Knights Templar; Shriners; Kiwanis; Elks; Eagles. Died, of a heart attack, at Santa Monica Hospital, Santa Monica, Los Angeles County, Calif., November 27, 1965 (age 72 years, 264 days). Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Santa Monica, Calif.
  Relatives: Married 1914 to Elizabeth Beryl Seger.

  Patrick Anthony McCarran (1876-1954) — also known as Patrick A. McCarran; Pat McCarran — of Reno, Washoe County, Nev. Born in Reno, Washoe County, Nev., August 8, 1876. Democrat. Farmer; lawyer; member of Nevada state legislature, 1903; justice of Nevada state supreme court, 1913; U.S. Senator from Nevada, 1933-54; died in office 1954; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Nevada, 1936, 1940, 1944, 1952. Catholic. Died September 28, 1954 (age 78 years, 51 days). Interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Reno, Nev.

  James Leo Wadsworth (b. 1922) — also known as J. L. Wadsworth — of Panaca, Lincoln County, Nev.; Las Vegas, Clark County, Nev. Born in Alamo, Lincoln County, Nev., May 21, 1922. Son of James Allen Wadsworth and Lois (Stewart) Wadsworth. Democrat. Served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II; rancher; member of Nevada state house of representatives, 1949-50; lawyer. Mormon. Member, American Bar Association. Still living as of 1963.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
