      Warren Thomas Thayer (1869-1956) — also known as Warren T. Thayer — of Chateaugay, Franklin County, N.Y. Born in Burke, Franklin County, N.Y., July 12, 1869. Son of Alfred Thayer (1836-1910) and Hulda (Hall) Thayer (1837-1910). Republican. Newspaper publisher; member of New York state assembly from Franklin County, 1916-20; member of New York state senate 34th District, 1921-34. Presbyterian. Member, Freemasons. Died, in Alice Hyde Hospital, Malone, Franklin County, N.Y., March 2, 1956 (age 86 years, 234 days). Interment at East Side Cemetery.
      Relatives: Married to Haseltine Miller (1868-1951).

      Leonard Covington (1768-1813) — of Maryland. Born in Aquasco, Prince George's County, Md., October 30, 1768. Democrat. U.S. Representative from Maryland at-large, 1805-07; member of Maryland state senate, 1807-09; general in the U.S. Army during the War of 1812. Mortally wounded in the Battle of Chrysler's Field, and died in Frenchs Mills (now Fort Covington), Franklin County, N.Y., November 14, 1813 (age 45 years, 15 days). Original interment somewhere; reinterment in 1820 at Mt. Covington, Sackets Harbor, N.Y.; cenotaph at Military Post Cemetery, Sackets Harbor, N.Y.
      Covington counties in Ala. and Miss. are named for him.

Died in Fort Covington, Franklin County, N.Y., March 26, 1848 (age 66 years, 335 days). Interment at Old Cemetery.

Presbyterian. Died in Malone, Franklin County, N.Y., June 4, 1887 (age 67 years, 339 days). Interment at Morningside Cemetery.

Member, Psi Upsilon; Elks; Freemasons. Died May 20, 1975 (age 82 years, 37 days). Cremated; ashes interred at Morningside Cemetery.

    The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
     
      The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.  
      The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
