  David John Lewis (1869-1952) — also known as David J. Lewis — of Cumberland, Allegany County, Md. Born in Nuttals Bank, Centre County, Pa., May 1, 1869. Son of Richard Lloyd Lewis and Catherine (Watkins) Lewis; married, December 19, 1893, to Florida M. Bohn. Democrat. Coal miner; lawyer; member of Maryland state senate, 1902-04; U.S. Representative from Maryland 6th District, 1911-17, 1931-39; defeated, 1908; candidate for U.S. Senator from Maryland, 1916 (Democratic), 1922, 1938; member, U.S. Tariff Commission, 1921. Died in Cumberland, Allegany County, Md., August 12, 1952 (age 83 years, 103 days). Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Cumberland, Md.

  Russell G. Lloyd, Sr. (1932-1980) — of Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Ind. Born in Kingston, Luzerne County, Pa., March 29, 1932. Father of Russell G. Lloyd, Jr.. Republican. Lawyer; mayor of Evansville, Ind., 1972-79; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Indiana, 1972. Catholic. Shot and mortally wounded by Julia Van Orden; he died eight hours later, in St. Mary's Hospital, Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Ind., March 21, 1980 (age 47 years, 358 days); his killer was convicted and sentenced to 40 years in prison. Interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Evansville, Ind.
  Joseph Simon Lord III (1912-1991) — also known as Joseph S. Lord III — of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa. Born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., May 21, 1912. Son of Joseph Simon Lord and Irene (Hicks) Lord; married, November 25, 1936, to Marie Catherine McCrudden; married, February 14, 1971, to Maureen Colgan McCrudden. Lawyer; U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, 1961; U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, 1961-76. Died in April, 1991 (age 78 years, 0 days). Burial location unknown.
  John L. Lotsch (1881-1967) — of Brooklyn, Kings County, N.Y.; Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pa. Born February 15, 1881. Republican. Lawyer; candidate for U.S. Representative from New York 6th District, 1928. Arrested and indicted in 1935 on federal charges of taking bribes while serving as a special master overseeing a patent case; the case was dismissed in 1936, but he was immediately reindicted on an extortion charge; that indictment was thrown out by the Court of Appeals. Charged in 1938, with other officials of a defunct Brooklyn bank, with conspiracy to violate federal banking laws by accepting fees for granting loans; tried and convicted on three counts; sentenced to serve one year in jail; also disbarred. Pleaded guilty in 1939 to charges that he bribed federal judge Martin T. Manton, and testified at the judge's bribery trial. Died in 1967 (age about 86 years). Burial location unknown.
  Walter Hoge Lowrie (1807-1876) — also known as Walter H. Lowrie — of Pennsylvania. Born in Armstrong County, Pa., March 3, 1807. Son of Walter Lowrie. Lawyer; district judge in Pennsylvania, 1846-51; justice of Pennsylvania state supreme court, 1851-57; chief justice of Pennsylvania state supreme court, 1857-63. Died in Meadville, Crawford County, Pa., November 14, 1876 (age 69 years, 256 days). Burial location unknown.
  Harry S. Lydick (b. 1860) — of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa. Born in South Mahoning Township, Indiana County, Pa., April 23, 1860. Republican. Lawyer; served in the U.S. Army during the Spanish-American War; member of Pennsylvania state house of representatives from Allegheny County 2nd District, 1907-09. The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 229,196 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.
