Son of George Norbeck and Karen (Kongsvig) Norbeck. Republican. Well driller; member of South Dakota state senate 30th District, 1909-14; Lieutenant Governor of South Dakota, 1915-17; Governor of South Dakota, 1917-21; U.S. Senator from South Dakota, 1921-36; died in office 1936; delegate to Republican National Convention from South Dakota, 1924, 1928. Lutheran. Swedish and Norwegian ancestry. Member, Freemasons. Died December 20, 1936 (age 66 years, 115 days). Interment at Bloomington Church Cemetery.
      Relatives: Married 1900 to Lydia Theresa Anderson (1873-1961).

      Paul Albert Anderson (1880-1964) — also known as Paul A. Anderson — of Geddes, Charles Mix County, S.Dak. Born July 13, 1880. Son of Ole Anderson. Democrat. Member of South Dakota state house of representatives 9th District, 1935-38. Died November 15, 1964 (age 84 years, 125 days). Interment at Bloomington Church Cemetery.
      Relatives: Married to Bertha G. Belgium (1882-1958).

      The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.  
      The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
