  Arthur William Aleshire (1900-1940) — also known as Arthur W. Aleshire — of Springfield, Clark County, Ohio. Born near Luray, Page County, Va., February 15, 1900. Son of James William Aleshire and Ada Aleshire. Democrat. Grocer; gasoline station business; His legs were paralyzed as the result of an accident in 1923; U.S. Representative from Ohio 7th District, 1937-39; defeated, 1938. Member, Knights of Pythias. Died in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio, March 11, 1940 (age 40 years, 25 days). Interment at Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio.
  Relatives: Married, May 11, 1921, to Myrtle G. Marsh.

  Norman Calvin Bailey, Sr. (1890-1969) — also known as Norman C. Bailey — of Orange, Orange County, Va. Born in Orange County, Va., June 22, 1890. Democrat. Wholesale grocer; member of Virginia state house of delegates, 1944-57. Methodist. Member, Rotary. Died July 23, 1969 (age 79 years, 31 days). Interment at Graham Cemetery, Orange, Va.

  Cyrus Arthur Hotchkiss (1863-1941) — also known as Cyrus Hotchkiss — of Petersburg, Va. Born August 18, 1863. Son of Solomon Hotchkiss and Wealthy (Smith) Hotchkiss. Socialist. Grocer; candidate for Presidential Elector for Virginia, 1928; candidate for U.S. Representative from Virginia 4th District, 1940. Died March 30, 1941 (age 77 years, 224 days). Burial location unknown.
  Relatives: Third cousin once removed of Truman Hotchkiss; son of Solomon Hotchkiss and Wealthy (Smith) Hotchkiss; brother of Orlando Scoville Hotchkiss; married to Mae Elizabeth Jones (1891-1937). See Livingston-Seymour-Lee-Williams family of New York.
  Charles Krath Moser (b. 1877) — also known as Charles K. Moser — of San Francisco, Calif.; Lewinsville, Fairfax County, Va. Born in Marion, Smyth County, Va., August 27, 1877. Manager of a fruit drying company in California; newspaper reporter; lawyer; U.S. Consul in Aden, 1909-11; Colombo, 1911-14; Harbin, 1914-19; Tiflis, 1921. Burial location unknown.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
