  Charles E. Davis (b. 1949) — also known as Chuck Davis — of Hampton, Va. Born in 1949. Republican. Fire fighter; candidate in primary for U.S. Representative from Virginia 7th District, 2007. Still living as of 2007.

  Joseph Simpson Farland (1914-2007) — also known as Joseph S. Farland — of West Virginia. Born in Clarksburg, Harrison County, W.Va., August 11, 1914. Son of Richard Farland and Grace (Simpson) Farland. Lawyer; FBI special agent; served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; U.S. Ambassador to Dominican Republic, 1957-60; Panama, 1960-63; Pakistan, 1969-72; Iran, 1972-73. Member, American Bar Association; Beta Theta Pi. Died in Chesterfield County, Va., January 28, 2007 (age 92 years, 170 days). Burial location unknown.

  G. T. Johnston (b. 1887) — of Bluefield, Mercer County, W.Va. Born in Giles County, Va., July 24, 1887. Son of George W. Johnston and Annie W. (Moore) Johnston. Democrat. Plumbing and heating contractor; deputy sheriff; member of West Virginia state house of delegates from Mercer County, 1951-56. Methodist. Member, Freemasons. Burial location unknown.

  Robert Emmet Lee (1912-1993) — also known as Robert E. Lee — of Illinois; Arlington, Arlington County, Va. Born in Chicago, Cook County, Ill., March 31, 1912. Son of Patrick J. Lee and Delia (Ryan) Lee. Republican. FBI special agent; member, Federal Communications Commission, 1953-81; chair, Federal Communications Commission, 1981. Catholic. Irish ancestry. Died, of liver cancer, in a hospital at Arlington, Arlington County, Va., April 5, 1993 (age 81 years, 5 days). Burial location unknown.

  Ronald L. Rice (b. 1945) — of Newark, Essex County, N.J. Born in Richmond, Va., December 18, 1945. Served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War; police detective; member of New Jersey state senate 28th District, 1996-; candidate for mayor of Newark, N.J., 2006. African ancestry. Still living as of 2011.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
